Gerald A. YoungPresident & CEO
Gerald A. Young is Owner, President and CEO of the Hopewell Group, parent company of Hopewell Risk Strategies, LLC, a national healthcare cost savings company, based in Houston, Texas, Hopewell Quality Care Staffing and Hopewell Home Healthcare. Attorney Young is a partner and founder in several healthcare startups, including Mobile Telemed, Inc. and Hands from the Heart Homecare Services. He has served in various executive corporate positions, including Executive Vice President at Devon Health Services, Assistant Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of National Capital PPO, a WellPoint (NYSE: WLP) company, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary at Health Advocate, a privately held INC. 500 company, and over 10 years at Aetna/US Healthcare (NYSE: AET) as Regional General Counsel, Regional Integration Manager, counseling internal HMO, Insurance, Healthcare Technology companies and worked on three multi-billion acquisitions and integrations. Mr. Young holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science (minor in Mathematics) from Central State University, in Wilberforce, Ohio, a Juris Doctorate Degree from Temple School of Law, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and an Executive Management Certificate from Georgetown McDonough School of Business, in Washington, DC. He is an ordained Deacon at the Historic Nineteenth Street Baptist Church in Washington, DC, where he served as Deacon Board Chairman for five years, and Vice Chairman for two years.
Richard CummingsDirector of Accounting & Finance
As Accounting & Finance Director, Richard oversees the accounting and finance activities of the diverse group of healthcare companies in the Hopewell Group. Richard is a hands-on finance professional with over ten years of experience. He is known for developing and streamlining processes, excellent interpersonal skills with all levels of the organization, and providing strong technical analysis. Richard has developed budgets, designed financial reporting packages, documented cash flow projection methods and trained and mentored team members. marketing plan, and has served as a board member of Covenant Federal Credit Union. Richard is a graduate of the University of Michigan-Flint and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
